I'm waiting for Alfred after school the next day. Today went pretty much the same as before except Britney was away for a sports tournament so I was even more alone.

But I don't really mind. Wally and I are going to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: part two when he comes over to the Manor later. He doesn't like to admit it but he is a HP nerd deep down, and -being the young ward of the Prince of Gotham- I've gotten it on DVD before it's even out of theaters. Can't wait to see his face when--

      "Hey, gay boy!"

The shout awakes me from my thoughts, and I look behind only to find Samson and a couple of his cronies marching towards me.

"You going to go meet your boyfriend, gay boy?"

"Buzz off, Samson. Before I hurt you."

"Ooo. Scary, Grayson. Hey!" His eyes suddenly light up, and his smirk deeper into more of a sneer. "That's what we should call you! GAY-son! That's your new name, 'kay Gayson?"

The blockheads standing behind him snort and snicker; my hands ball up into fists by my side, and I can feel myself shake with anger.

Now, I can take being called gay. And freak. And creep. And anything else these stupid people throw at me, but that is my name. My parent's name.

I swing my fist back and lunge foreword with a roar, and my fist makes contact with Samson's nose causing a dreadful cracking noise. Blood stains my knuckles and he's thrown on his backside.

"Don't you dare," I scream. "Mess with my father's name!"

For a second he just looks up at me, completely shocked. He gingerly touches his nose and winces, then he stands again, snarling curses and threats, crackling his knuckles.

I refuse to so much as twitch as he makes his way towards me, making it clear that I'm not afraid of anything he's got. I'll have to be careful, though. If I beat him up to quickly and too easily, people might start getting suspicious, and start noticing the similarities between Dick Grayson and Robin. The last thing I need is my identity getting out because of something as lame as school bullying.

Samson pulls his fist back. I think I'll let him make the hit, so it's look more like a fair fight. He brings his fist foreword, aiming for my face. I calmly close my eyes. Wait for it

Suddenly, a huge gust of wind blows by with an all too familiar WOOSH. My eyes spring open instinctively. No way. Samson's on his back in the dirt about two feet to the left of where he was standing a second ago.

"What the hell…?" he mutters, rubbing his eyes to rid them of dust that seems to have exploded up into clouds between us.

I feel my stomach fall with dread. He wouldn't. He- he just couldn't! Not even WALLY could be so stupid as to--

"Causing trouble?" comes a voice from a couple feet behind me.

Samson gasps and scoots backwards, his eyes growing giant. I turn and can't help but let my shoulders sag at the sight.

There's Wally, standing in his Kid Flash uniform with his hands on his hips.

"If there's one thing I hate more than criminals," he says, glaring at the boy cowering in the dirt. "It's bullies."

He's using a cheesy deep voice and has his chested puffed up, trying to look tougher. I'm trying not to laugh.

"I- I- I wasn't--" Samson stutters; he looks completely terrified.

Wally bolts at him, stopping inches from his face. "I suggest," he whispers harshly. "You leave this boy alone. As well as anyone else you're picking on. Otherwise, you'll have to answer to me. Are we clear?"

The stupid boy nods quickly, and crawls backwards until he bumps into one of his goon-like followers, all of whom had remained utterly silent since Kid Flash arrived on the scene, their mouths hanging loosely open. Samson fumbles to his feet and sprints away as fast as his pudgy legs could carry him, his minions swiftly following suit.

I can't hold back any longer. I bust out laughing, nearly falling forward because of it. When I regain the ability to breathe, I glance over at Wally. He's grinning from ear to ear looking proudly in the direction the bullies escaped.

      I grin. That idiot.

But suddenly I remember we're in public, and I'm looking at him like… well, like he's my best friend.

"Thanks for your help, Flash Boy!" I squeal at him, attempting to fill my voice with as much awe as a normal person should when talking to a hero.

He frowns at me, but gives me a quick salute anyways and speeds off towards Central City.

*********************************************

I knock politely on the door of the West residence. It had taken me a few hours to get home then side my motorcycle all the way to Central City, and I can't help but think of how much faster I would've gotten to see Wally if I had M'Gann's Bioship.

      What I wouldn't give for a Batplane.

The door opens slowly and there's my ginger speedster, a look of fake disapproval on his face.

      "Flash Boy? Seriously?"

"Yes." I grin and pull him down by his shirt, pressing our lips together. "Seriously."

He looks dazed for a split second, his eyes half closed and a wide smile covering his face as he steps aside to let me through the door.

"So what brings you here?" He asks as I collapse on the sofa in the living room.

"What? I can't come around just to hang out with my boyfriend?"

He blushes slightly and sits next to me. "No- well, I mean of course- but that's not why you came, is it?"

I let out a long sigh. "Wally, that was an incredibly stupid thing to do. I mean, Kid Flash showing up to save me from being picked on?--"

"That guy was gonna punch your nose off, Dick." He says solemnly.

"Oh please. I would have been fine. I'm just saying, you really shouldn't have done that. People could start suspecting… And besides, I can handle my own fights."

"I know you can, Rob. But I just- I just couldn't let you get hurt over me. I started the problems, so I'm the one whose gotta fix them."

"For the last time, Wally, this isn't your fault."

"That doesn't matter." And without a moments hesitation he pulls me against his chest, resting his cheek on the top of my head. Happy, I nuzzle my face into his shirt, taking in his intoxicating sent. "All that matters is that that dude's never gonna mess with my Robin ever again."
"You know, I'd have killed for a flying batmobile when I was Robin."
